1. Kunbi Matrimony
Due to the increase of certain undesirable practices in the wedding ceremonies of the Kunbi community, the events have started becoming expensive. Some parents from ordinary families even take loans to imitate these practices and fulfill their children's wishes. A meeting of the Kunbi community from Wada and Vikramgad talukas was held on Sunday in Wada to discuss the ending of these undesirable practices. A unanimous resolution was passed in the meeting to put a stop to practices such as pre-wedding shoots and mehndi. Due to increasing population Kunbi Matrimony Thane also started by community. Kunbi Samaj Seva Sangh Thane has initiated some good practices for Marathi Kunbi community.
2. Kunbi Dance which State
One traditional dance of the Kunbi community, spread across Maharashtra and Goa, is known as Kunbi Dance. This dance is especially popular among the Kunbi community in Goa. However, it is performed at various social and religious events. The Kunbi dance is quite simple and easy, and you can see the community's symbolism in this dance.
3. Kunbi Saree
Goa's Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant praised the artisans of Goa's textile industry along with Kunbi sarees. He said, 'Kunbi: The Pride of Goa Textile' has showcased the excellent work of our talented artists. Their dedication and skill are giving Goa's traditional fabrics a unique identity. This has revitalized our rich textile tradition.
This exhibition is considered an important step to encourage the local art and artisans of Goa. The Kunbi saree is one of Goa's traditional garments, and this exhibition will help this art gain recognition at both national and international levels.
4. Kunbi Caste Certificate
Since 1st November 2023, 2,36,057 Hindu Kunbi caste certificates have been issued in Marathwada of Maharashtra state. The revenue department of eight districts has provided around 47,845 Kunbi caste category certificates based on the evidence found in about 2,21,52,719 proofs related to Maratha-Kunbi and Kunbi Maratha.

5. Kunbi Caste in Marathi
On Monday, three members of the Kunbi Certificate Revision Committee, chaired by retired Justice Sandeep Shinde, held a review meeting in Beed for Kunbi Maratha Records. On Tuesday, they gathered information about the records in Vaijapur taluka. A meeting between the Shinde Committee and Jarange Patil is scheduled for 21st August at the office of the divisional commissioner. Jarange Patil has warned of a hunger strike starting from 29th August for the demand of reservation. Against this backdrop, members of the Shinde Committee are checking old records. Kunbi Nondi Pune region is still remained. Kunbi Samaj Thane population count also huge as per the report.
In the inspection of 2 crore 21 lakh 52 thousand 719 documents, 47 thousand 546 Kunbi Caste records were found. The administration has presented this information to the Shinde committee. The highest number of 1 lakh 60 thousand 571 certificates were distributed in Beed district.
The second and third reports of the former judge Sandeep Shinde committee appointed for Maratha reservations have been accepted. This important decision was made in the state cabinet meeting. Former judge Sandeep Shinde had submitted the second report to the government during the winter session. The second report and the third report given by the committee were presented in the cabinet meeting.
6. Tirale Kunbi
Meanwhile, the Kunbi community, which comprises farmers, has spread everywhere and they have the strength to tackle the situation. At a meeting of the multi-purpose Tirale Kunbi Association, a call was made for this community, divided into various sub-categories, to come together under the name of Sakal Kunbi'.
7. Conclusion
As per the recommendations of the Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission, the cabinet approved on Monday in its meeting to include the sub-castes 'Tiloari Kunbi', 'Tillori Kunbi', and 'Ti Kunbi' under item no. 83 of the state government's 'Other Backward Classes' list. These sub-castes will be included ahead of Leva Kunbi, Leva Patil, Leva Patidar, Maratha Kunbi, and Kunbi Maratha.
